Julie,
today in Brooksville, 82 degrees, sunny, breezy. The front is coming, the front is coming!

More info tomorrow. Provided I don't get zapped by the predicted thunder storms.

Julie,
the storms came through 10 minutes before Sweepstakes started with heavy rain and high winds. The rain subsided just as the dogs entered the ring but the wind stayed with us all day.

Now, it's 70 degrees, overcast and very windy. I just got home from shooting the Dane Specialty and the wind made those toy tosses an exciting adventure. I tossed one toy out to the left and the wind brought it back so it almost hit the judge! The judge wasn't pleased but the dog loved it.

More later,

Jim

Julie,
today was one of the most spectacular days we can have in Central Florida: 72 degrees, clear, crisp, see-forever weather. Hope it holds for next weekend.

My agenda today had me shooting Toy Poodles at 9 am, Rotties at 9:30 am and Dobes at 10 am. Not in adjoining rings! I did a lot of running.

There are times I sit and think about how I'd love to spend a day making images of old barns, or indigenous Florida landscapes. Just set up my camera on a tripod, figure out the exposure, click off 3 exposures for tone-mapping/HDR and then drive off to the next spot to do the same. I might never get paid for that kind of work but I'd really enjoy the pace of it.

In comparison, it's off to one ring to shoot 2 dogs, off to another ring to shoot 5 dogs and then run real fast to catch 3 dogs before they stop showing in Winners in the Dobe ring. Puff. Puff. The photography is only a small piece of this action. The key is getting there and in position to get something!!!

Can't wait for you and Dot to get here. Safe flight.

Jim

Dot is there already. She went down with the handlers. I'll have to grab her up on their way back from FL. So, go look for Grahm and Jan and ask to meet my super special Dot.

I'll be there Friday evening and CROSS ALL YOUR FINGERS AND TOES she wins on Friday before I get in town!! I promised them a big dinner out if they would get her done!! She won't be worth much after I get in town as she will be looking for me.

It is only an 1.5 flight, but, about an hour drive on top of it. Which is fine! I am excited to be in FL. A quickie vacation Go see my Dot. I miss her a lot.

Hey Jim,

Congrats on Rowdy's prize. I also think that Tony has the right of it...he is not retiring so much as changing professions. :P

Julie - good luck!

James

Julie,
not sure if I'll get over to the Whippet ring today but I'll try. I have a Dobe that's in the ring at 9, a Toy Poodle that's in the ring at 9:30 and Rotties in the ring at 9:30 after 10 dogs. Now would be a good time for that electric scooter!

More weather reports as the week goes on. Good luck to Ms Dot.

BTW, our Juneau won the Open Bitch class for the past two days and got 2 RWB. Both were majors. She needs both majors to finish and if she doesn't finish on the Circuit, she goes back to Michigan with our handler. So, cross some fingers for us, too.

Jim
