1 client 3 different sites

One of my clients decided he wanted 3 different web sites. The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. This is a narrow gauge tourist railroad that climbs the Rocky Mountains in Norther New Mexico & Southern Colorado. His thinking is the official site where you can buy tickets and a site for photos and a site for behind the scenes work on the railroad. Many people have their favorite thing about the railroad so now they can bookmark the parts of the railroad that they enjoy the most and can go directly there with out having to see anything else.

I have the photo section ready to add this years photos and the behind the scenes is also ready. The new site where you can buy the tickets still needs some work and I have to move it to another server. I did not build the live official site where you can buy tickets now.

IMHO this is a interesting idea breaking up a site into 3 sites. So far the reaction is real good. Also the search engines seem to like it, because all 3 sites have numerous links back and forth.

Link to the photo site.

Thanks To the sites

Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi David, thanks for looking and for taking the time to comment. If someone likes the mountains it is a GREAT ride.

They are filming another movie in August. It should be good for the railroad and the village. The extra money will come in handy.

Are you going to try to get hired filming the stills?

I already have taken their location director out and we are scheduled to go out once a week starting in May or June. He asked me about taking some other shots for them and I told him we could discuss that when he comes back up to scout for locations. Best thing about it so far is he and the producer bought numerous wildlife photos from my gift shop. It is a pretty easy gig so far he tells me what he wants and I take him to a couple of places and then take some shots from there so he can take them back for their meeting. When I am with him the movie company pays for everything.

Sounds like a great job and I hope you end up taking the stills for their posters, promos, etc. That generally pays well.

Looks like a really good idea to me, no suggestions to add. I'd taken a look at the site (through your lovely Fox shots in another thread). It is great, the Puffing Billy site could take some inspiration from it.

I live alongside the Puffing Billy railway station in Belgrave, a heritage narrow-gauge line with a huge band of volunteers keeping it running. But the website - http://www.puffingbilly.com.au - also needs some work, or fresh ideas. Maybe one concern though with separating the picture gallery from the official ticket-ordering site is that visitors might just "look at the pictures" and not go further to find how to book a ride.

PC thanks for looking and commenting. As soon as I move them to the new server the buying tickets will be available on all pages of all 3 sites.
