I did a very casual, practice photo shoot for a neighbor of mine, who needed some quick pictures of a couple horses she has for sale. Good opportunity for me, but even though I didn't get started till about 6:00 p.m., the sun was still quite powerful.

I was trying to work on capturing motion, catching the horse on the right beat, as well as capturing the features of a dark colored horse without to many shadows.

Here are some of my favorites. Advise and critiques welcome, and please keep in mind this was a casual shoot per the owners request.

Nice job and this fits in the discussion of photographing dark animals. I like the first and third the most. Amazing how long bodied they look when parked out.
