Having fulfilled my botanical illustrator wife's request for multiple descriptive images of Heterotheca Jonesei, I was free to wander the gardens, capturing scenes that appealed. Your comments are always welcomed.

Hey Buddy,

Thanks for sharing. This is a very nice series. My favorite of the group is the second photo. It is very nicely composed. The first photos are Heterotheca Jonesei? I know the second shots are Purple Cone Flowers (Echinacea Purpurea.)..LOL, thanks in advance for the botanical education. :P

Hello James - I didn't include Heterotheca Jonesii (Jones' False Goldenaster) in the above series, but here it is:



Yes, #3 is Echinacea purpurea (Eastern Purple Coneflower). I'll confirm the others and add the info here.

Ha! It (#6) is slightly disturbing in the old 'PacMan' way. All the 'open mouths' plus the general pattern got my attention.
