When I shot this scene I wanted to bring out the sky and the waves at the same time. I decided that in order for me to do this is converting it to Monochrome. For me the stillness of the rocks amidst the fury of the waves and the calmness of the clouds/ sky complements each other like yin and yang..

Hey Karlo,

I like the composition a lot. I like specifically your use of angles pulling in towards the middle from the corners. I will say that you might want to consider a different B&W converter. I feel like some of the drama gets taken out because the image feels a bit muted...and this is in dire opposition to the power of the waves coming towards you. Is this a true convert to monochrome?

Hi Karlo,

There are several. I have an old TRI-X simulator if you would like to try it. Also, one of DxO Optic's best features is the film pack...and they have several B&W and other color film options available.

Send me an e-mail. The (Just Like) Tri-X one is PD and I will be glad to share it with you.

Thanks,
James
