I went back out to the barn with my camera near sunset the other day and captured a few. After the last time I was out at noon, and battled harsh lighting conditions, I thought I'd give late afternoon a try. I've also been trying new PP techniques like graduated filters etc...

C&C welcomed and encouraged, especially on the PP work.

Gosh I love photos of horses. I especially like that spotted one in the first photo. I think the first three photos are especially attractive, the light is nice, cropping good and nice blur to the background. I think lighting was getting a bit more harsh in the last two and distracts from the subjects.

The whites look blown in the last of the first set. Use a longer lens if you are going to do equine stuff. 100mm or longer. Way too much distortion under that with large animals

I was using a 55-200.... and I probably blew it a little in the PP.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for sharing. The 1st and 3rd are probably my favorites. I agree with Julie that some of the others do look a bit distorted...specifically the 5th shot in the first set. Having said that, nice work over-all.

James
