I love white on white, as well as black on black. I know its not for everyone but I think its very cool. In this case its gorgeous, those eyes are amazing. Can you post a larger version or point us to one?
I like high key and I like it when the subject is white.
It looks to me that you have the subject brighter than the background with the background measuring in the high 230 range and the cat in the mid to high 240 range. I'd prefer it be the other way around.
That is a good observation Jim. And correct. I tend to lose contrast when I light the background more than the subject. So I chose to have a slightly dingy background instead of a slightly dingy subject. I am not in the majority on that.
Thanks for the comments.

Preston, I really like this image. I also like the fact that you brought up the texture in the cat without overpowering it with the white background. I do a lot of low-key stuff and it's similar in what I wish to emphasize. In black-on-black, it's always the fur texture. I really like this treatment. It's not for every subject but it's very nice for this particular cat. Great job!
I like the second better and if I saw it in a large portrait,I would guess both would be beautiful in a home decorated in light colors, almost like a watercolor
