Oh, my "peep" (little bird) ID is weak, but I think it is a sand piper of some sort.

I agree with Penny. The DOF is what makes this shot really cool. The eyes are tack sharp, and the small DOF just emphasizes the unique bird.

It looks like a Sanderlink (Calidris alba) which is a member of a sandpiper family.


I love the angle of view, but I would like to see a little more DOF. Just enough to see the bill sharp all the way to the tip. I don't understand the crop on the right side, because it became a little tight over there. Always better to leave more room at front of the subject than behind.
The dark blure stain under the bird butt is disturbing. That is the only dark spot and take my eyes off from the main subject. My mind stuck with it and try to figure out what is it?
