Hey Everyone,

Chanthee and I are making the 12 hour drive to Acadia National Park at the end of the May for our Anniversary. We will be camping near Bar Harbor for most of the week. While we will certainly be doing the Sunrise/Sunset locations (like Cadillac Mountain, Bass Harbor Light House, etc), I am wondering if folks have other ideas for places to go?

We are scheduled to take the drive out to Jonesport to go out to Machias Seal Island to see the Puffins. However, any other cool ideas??

Thanks
James

What way are you going? I live just north of Hartford, Ct., right off I-91. I assume you are going I-95?

Have a great trip, wave on your way through Ct. I love puffins! They sound so funny, like a flock of chainsaws.

Hey Penny,

Yuppers, I am going up Route 95. It is roughly a 12 hour drive from Manhattan...though the GPS says we can do it in 9 and a half...perhaps it moves faster than we do.

I hope that this time I will have enough photos to make a short article from the experience. On the last trip, I honestly only took 3 or 4 photos that I felt were presentation quality.

James:

I'd love to read an article about your trip to Acadia and especially your visit to Machias Seal Island to see puffins.

I'm with Penny. Love those puffins!

LOL, the trip is really about the puffins!!! The check to the tour company cleared today. This is a group that I believe that John Isaac (Oly Visionary and friend) used some time ago when he was up in Maine. The company has landing rights to an island with about 3000 mating pairs of puffins.

...we are in the process of booking a Doggy Day Care for the day that we are off on the boat. Would anyone have had experience with any place near Bar Harbor? There are a few places around, but nothing quite like we are used to here in the City.

James
