Hey Guys,

This is a small series of shots from the trip last week. I hope you enjoy. I tried to make the series look similar to the ones that Roger Hogan (aka Wacky Roger) has produced for us in the past. As you can see, this guy got his field mouse....actually, several over the time we watched him one afternoon.

James

Nice shots, James. I saw some coyotes at a distance when I was in the Tetons, but didn't take the time to stop and watch. Too much to do... what a great place!

Great photos of the hunt! He is really camouflaged in the grass.

Nice series James! The second one in mid jump is very cool....and the entire series tells a great story.

Hey Karl,

Absolutely. This was a GREAT wildlife year for me. What was your impression about this year? Having said that, I have a strong fondness for the coyote. I find them quite beautiful and highly under-rated on the 'predator chain.'

James

PS. It is too bad that our paths did not cross. I think it might have been a lot of fun to meet.

Hey Penny,

Absolutely. I imagine that September, October and November are pretty good months for the coyote given their matching colors at that time of year.

Thanks, Roman. Believe it or not, this is the 'b' series of images that I have of coyotes from the trip. I have a much better series of the same coyote that I am saving up for our article.

This trip was a whole lot of fun and I hope it ultimately comes out in the photos and articles. I am always paranoid about turning a wonderful experience into a dreadful bore.

James,

Very nice! I, too, love the coyote. Could be, because we have a rather large den within 500 yards of our house. The only "complaint" I have about them is that the pups born earlier this year are VERY loud throughout the night. But their "howling' is absolutely hysterical! I think they try to imitate sounds they've picked up elsewhere, such as a rooster's call, etc. We can definitely identify individual pups by their calls. It's a lot of fun right now.
