We sure had our share of snow and we had some fun playing in it. Now comes the big chill so we won't be outside as much for a while!

Hey Peggysue,

These are beautiful. I particularly like the first photo with the pines in the background.

We are also going through the big freeze here in the park. The snow has essentially turned into 8 inch ice drifts. It is getting a bit too dangerous (IMO) for Mahkayla and her buddies to go galavanting the way that they normally do. They really play ruff!

I agree with you James, we have to guard our critters from hurting themselves. Sort of like having two year old kids around, you want them to have fun but stay safe!
My old mare went out and of course had to roll, and got stuck in the snow. We had to physically flip her over on the other side to help her get up. They can get into trouble you would least expect.

Fun photos! I kind of miss the snow (living in San Diego) but sure don't miss what a lot of you have been going through this winter with SO much snow, wind, low temps, and the worst - ice!

Must admit it seemed fun the day of the big snow but now it is getting really old. Good thing I get to take a break in a week to go to AZ. I can photograph Arabians in their short coats and warm weather.
I understand missing it but it really is nicer this year from afar! smile

Enjoy your trip to Az. I just love that state. I'm trying to get hubby to move there.

In Tucson this afternoon it is sunny and warm with temps in the low 70's. But, this time last week we had a freak cold snap (3rd of the season) with overnight lows in the mid-teens.

Should be beautiful by the time you arrive Peggy . . . except for all the dead vegetation, that is. ARGH%^$ At least there was none of that funny white stuff all over the ground. The air was so dry there wasn't even any frost on the windshield.

Thanks guys, I am sure that my time with friends, art and beautiful horses, weather of any kind will be great. The whole country this year has had its share of extremes so I guess I better be prepared or at least prepared to shop!
