I finally found a copy of the new Nikon 85mm f/1.4G lens. When I got home I only had a few minutes before my wife and I were going to go out for dinner. However, I just had to fire off a few frames before we left. So here are a couple of quick shots of Samson underneath our kitchen table, in bad light. Not great shots, but I can see the promise that this lens holds for the future.

The first shot at f/1.4 and the second was f/2

Nice and sharp and very nice bokeh. I find that my Canon EF 85mm F1.8 gives me the best combination of sharpness and background blur at F2.2 when I'm getting headshots both of people and pets. Love that focal length. Enjoy.

Agreed. We used to work with the 85 1.4 years ago when we shot for our friend at the Digital Wedding Forum. It is a great lens and a real bargain!
