Was in Central Oregon Saturday Night/Sunday Morning to pick up my son and had a few min to visit one of my absolute favorite places. Listened to the geese honk as they flew the park warning everyone evening was coming, and sat their till it got PITCH black....could even see the milky way. (Found out the hard way that I need a camera with better ISO capabilities for capturing that) But here are a few from the sunset hours.

First one is intense light beaming across the campgrounds off in the distance.

A tree I found interesting.

And this was my view and where I sat till the stars were thick in the sky.

It's good to get out and just enjoy.

Gorgeous Roman. I love the last photo and the river meandering through it.

Excellent shots Roman! You using a bit of HDR on these?

In full agreement here, I moved to a small town in Alaska to live (not visit) after retirement and enjoying every moment. Wish I had done it sooner.

Thanks!!

Here is the night sky after everything calmed down. Ahhhhh, I needed a zero gravity chair and some iced tea.

Finally I caved in, after seeing your earlier batch Smith Rock photos and my uncle constantly asking me to come visit his ranch (just on the other side of 97). I was in Terrebonne all week and did a lot of stuff near Sisters, but Monday night I spent in Smith Rock SP.

I like the first image, its that trademark look as you first step out of the parking lot. I tried and tried but couldn't do it at sunset with one frame.

The second image is my favorite though, I love how golden light interacts with the bark on juniper, and I think you captured just how much those rocks light up and change colors when sunset hits them.

I love the texture in your photos, that night shot is well done. That is a beautiful area. Do you have a favorite ppp? (post picture process)

Jadlh - It is a mixture of a few things.
1. I LOVE the NIK tools. They are amazing once you get to playing with them and see how they work. I use them in almost every shot.
2. I have created my own RGB & LAB curves mixture with special layer masks.
3. I have also adapted a few Vincent Versace Tips from a class I went to.

Between these three items, I am starting to get a "signature look" to my work. I also put some Dan Margulas Tips in my workflow as well. Always growing and trying to evolve that gap between what the camera sees and what my senses experience.

Roman,

I have been spellbound looking at your night photo. All are great, but this has me mesmerized.

Thanks, Doug
