Hey Guys,

I'm looking at the Spyder 3 color calibration unit but not sure to go with the Pro or the Elite. Any recommendations?

The puck is the same for both, the difference is in the software.

If you are not doing crazy pantone color matching, the cheaper unit should be just fine in most cases.

I have the cheaper model. I think the higher end model also profiles your printer...which seems like a nice idea. Having said that, my printer output is excellent using the stock Epson profiles.

I think you might be surprised if you actually profiled your Epson papers.

Hey Roman,

It certainly may be the case that if I was comparing a profiled printer compared to the generic profiles that I would be more pleased with the custom profile. Certainly I was never happy with the Epson 2200's output. I am v-e-r-y pleased with the Epson 4900 though. The prints really match my screen pretty close to perfectly.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go with the Elite if I go Spyder 3.
