Was just out in the backyard doing some cleanup and heard a Hawk screech from one of the trees; looked up and spotted this big girl. She waited for me to go inside, mount my 200L, walk to the back of the property and take about 2 dozen shots. Think she heard about the pups smile .

Actually, we lived on a golf course when we've had the other litters and had a similar amount of visiting wildlife so we know not to put puppies outside by themselves -- one of us is always with them -- plus we'll bring Sundance out just to let Mrs. Hawk know that she is no match for a butterfly-chasing, 130 lb. Rottie boy grin.

Hey Jim,

These are cool...particularly as you were able to shoot them with a relatively short lens.

James,
I really didn't think she'd be there when I went in for the camera and normally I would have added the 1.4 TX to the 200L but I was hurrying. And when I got back out there, she was still sitting in the tree surveying her hunting territory. About 150 ft. away. This is an area where the wildlife has been around people for quite a while and the raptors have learned when to be wary and when to relax. She was very relaxed. I swear she was aware of the puppies smile.

You were really lucky. Cool shots, Jim.
