Today a friend, Laslo and I went to Hawk Mt. Right along a well traveled trail, on the way to the largest overlook was a Lady Slipper. I like orchids, but most of the ones I have had are tropical. I knew this little plant existed, but this is the first one I have ever seen.

Nice shots. One day when I have the time, I have to get out that way. Wasn't it a bit overly humid for hiking the other day?

Thanks, I am still a little excited at the find. I thought of you when we decided to go up there, but it was such short notice and I knew you'd be unavailable. Whenever you’re ready let me know. And yes you are correct, it was a lot humid. Laslo will attest, I complained more then once about my excessive sweating:)
