Just curious who out there is using the 5D III ?
What is your favorite body and what lenses do you always use?
Anyone use the 60D?

Thanks

I am. I got the 5d3 the week it came out. I believe Preston is as well. Over-all, I think it is a great camera...and the prices have finally begun to fall where they belong. They can be found for well under the 3500 map price now.

The lens I use most is my Canon 28-70 f2.8l. I bought it years ago (obviously). Still razor sharp and fast.

James

Ps i have a friend w a 60d and have used it before on a few occasions. It is very nice and feels very similar to my 40d.

Rumors about new Canon products make me wonder what is next. I have a friend who is considering jumping from Nikon to Canon. I have directed him to our site and hope he will join us not only for the discussions but with photos of his birds. Thanks James for your input.
Your discussion about full frame with another question seems to have helped him too.

I love my 5D3. I consider it a 1d machine in a 5d body. The AF is worth the price. And I like the dual cards.

Peggy Sue,
As you know, I use the 7D. If *all* I shot was portraits in tight environments, I'd have a full-frame and it would be a toss-up for me between the 5DIII and the new 6D with overall cost/value the prime issue. When I'm shooting portraits, I shoot with strobes and on manual. I'd want to compare the AF between the two and see which one I could live with. Another option for me would be a good-condition 1Ds II. They are a great value now and a 1D as a backup would let me use long telephotos with telextenders that bring the minimum F-stop to F8.0 and still retain AF.

I'd keep the 7D for most of my wildlife shooting and for action photography in and out of the ring. I like its AF and love its fps. And its low-light IQ is perfectly adequate.

There is no question that overall IQ is better on a full-frame but with everything, there is a question of what you're willing to compromise. And, what your final products will be.

Jim
