Does anyone here take photos for use on things like greeting cards and calendars, which would be sold to the public at trade shows and farm markets? I'm wondering how to go about and hold casting calls for doggie models. And what would be fair compensation for their time (do you have to pay them like you would a clothing model).

I think that dogs are pretty affordable commodities. I know that dogs used in movies and casting calls are paid the same daily rate...it does not matter if it is a mutt off the street or Benji herself. I had thought I saw a news pieces where they said a couple of hundred bucks a day. I found something on e-how that indicated it was a bit more.

I am interested if others have first hand experience with this sort of thing.

Some of my clients are called in to the major food companies. They are paid travel plus generally a couple of hundred dollars a day. Grooming is provided by the studio.
