My wife Petra and I recently returned from our two week trip to Redwoods National Park. Along the way to Redwoods, we stopped at Death Valley N.P., Mono Lake, Yosemite N.P., and Lassen Volcanic N.P.

It is hard for me to believe that, as many times as I have driven past and around Death Valley, this was my first actual visit to the park. We only stayed a couple of days and didn't do any hiking - it was 112ºF - but here are a couple of shots I did manage to get:

Lol, Better you than me!! 112 degrees and hiking?? Btw, I really like the third shot with the curved road! Curiously, at Zabriskie, where did you take the photo? Up at the platform? I ask because I heard that they gated off the path.

Hi James:

The road up to the overlook from the parking area was blocked to vehicle traffic, but open for pedestrians. The shot I posted was taken from the right side about where the man in blue & woman with the red top are standing next to the second bench.

Thanks. Kossack had told me that they had closed the path we usually go down, about near the location of they guy in blue. I like the angle and texture of your composition.

James
