I think I've had a chance to look at just about all of the shots you have posted on NWP during the past year and enjoyed seeing which of them made your list of favorites for 2014.

While your "Sunset in Manhattan" and "Castle Hill Lighthouse" are two of my favorites of the many fine images you have posted, I was surprised that your 9 shot panorama of "Sunrise in Manhattan" didn't make your list.

You invited us to share our favorites as well. It was interesting to me that, as I thought about the pictures I made this year, none of my favorites are particularly good composition-wise and none of them are strictly nature or wildlife photos. I suppose they are favorites because of the special memories surrounding them.

That said, here are a few of my favorites from this past year:

Hey Jim,

Thanks for sharing! You are right - there were a bunch of photos that did not make my list...mostly because I make a silly distinction between landscapes and cityscapes. I have been leaning more and more to the natural environment being that which includes hand of man.

On another note, I wish that we had the opportunity to get together when you came to NYC. There is so much to see.
