A mama raccoon has been coming to my feeders in the daytime for the past two Springs. I suppose she needs a break from her babies! I've nicknamed her "Rosie". She also enjoys Dog Chow and any leftovers in the cats' dish! She's very people shy but I've got a good vantage point at the sliding glass door.

Here's a few recent ones, all with D70/70-200VR, shot through the double-pane sliding glass door:

Can you see me now?

Finger lickin' good!

She sees me!

Grrrrrrrrr!

A very immodest mama:

She hasn't brought her babies around yet but hope to see them soon. She's a real delight to watch.

Cheers,

Dick:)

Love the growly one. They are beautiful, how can anyone not like them? Hope there will be some series of the babies to follow.

Thanks, PC! I really do enjoy my 'coons. If history repeats itself, the youngsters won't be coming out in the daytime but will find their way onto my back deck to the cat's food dish at night. I always put some extra out there for them.

My youngest daughter raised a baby (from a breeder) a few years ago. He was such a great creature! Unfortunately, "Rocky" answered the Call of the Wild and escaped to the forest when grown and never came back.

Best regards,

Dick:)

Thanks so much, Jeff! Glad you liked the "Grrrrrr". Sometimes, a title really helps give extra meaning to a photo.

Sorry to have been away for a while but just so much going on this Spring.

"Rosie" is such a pretty raccoon and a pleasure to watch. The others, including the big male, only come out at night.

Best to you,

Dick:)

Hey Dick!

Also glad to have you back. I love the shots. I did brighten up one of them just a bit because I liked it a lot (hope you don't mind). Raccoons are interesting beasts. We see them occasionally here in Manhattan at night. I figure if they can make it here, they can make it anywhere (and all that, LOL).

Thanks, James. Coons are so much fun to watch and quite adaptable, except for cars on the roads at night!

I got a new pc a couple of weeks ago and haven't gotten this monitor dialed in yet. Thanks for letting me know it was on the dark side.

Best to you,

Dick:)
