A few recent shots from around my home in South Carolina. Nature is everywhere, even in and around your own backyard.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for posting these. I like them all - great rich colors. I think that the one that I prefer most is the first, with the butterfly's full profile.

Cheers
James

Nicely done. Very sharp and vivid color.

Cheers,

Great images! What lens camera combo did you use?

All three with the Olympus E-1. Lens for the first and thrid was the 50-200 f/2.8-3.5 and the second was with the 300 f/2.8

Thanks you all for your comments.

Hi Tom,

How do you like the 300 F2.8? That is one heck of a piece of glass. How close can you close focus with it?

James

It's a great lens. Very sharp and great for nature photography. This lens with the EC-14 (1.4 tele converter) gives me the 35 equiv. of a 850mm f/4 lens and not to heavy to carry around all day out on the trail. The closest I can get to the subject is about 6 feet I would guess.

Wow Tom, Nice work. Great color and the backgrounds are perfect. I really like the boken of this setup. And 850f4, Holly Crap! I really like the second one, it's a shame he didn't turn toward the camera. What is that a Mimosa flower?

Thanks, Jeff
