These were taken late in the afternoon, with dusk approaching. It was out near the West Gate of Yellowstone.

Somehow, I came across this photo from two years ago. LOL, it did not receive any comments when I originally posted (though it has 700+ views), but I still really like it. It is kind of cool going through the back-catalog of stuff on the site.

I like the diagonal patterns formed by the ears as well as the one created by the necks.

The warm colors are real nice too.

What sort of animals are these? I couldn't tell at first- now I'm thinking they are wolves?

That may be one of the interesting features of this photo - you have to look at it at least twice! And viewers may not all see the same thing.

Thanks for sharing, Jim.

These are elk. I like patterns and lines, and thought that it provided a slightly different view than one typically sees when photographing them. The ONE change that I think I made in this photo when I took it was cloning out the stump in the background next to the 3rd ones head.

I like the shot but take my opinion with a grain of salt, I dont know what I am doing yet, so maybe my critique doesnt matter. I will say, it would have been nice to see all three eyes.

I really like the repetition and patterns! They seem like they are right on top of each other.
