I just wanted to share my photo of a Barred Owl taken here in Florida this past weekend. The overall photo seems too green to me, and I am thinking about adjusting the greens in photoshop. No sharpening on this one, but just some slight cropping to get some dark, dead limbs out of the picture. I took over 60 exposures of this beautiful owl in a 15 minute time span, and unfortunately this one pic and maybe two others came out OK.

She sat and stared at me and was not the least bit concerned by my presence. A tufted titmouse came along and aggravated her until she finally left.

Very nice photo. I think the green that you are refering to is coming from some foliage that you shot through to get that shot. The foliage must have been very close to you because it is almost invisible. This is causing a horizontal green patch through the center. It is always great to find subjects that will tolerate you photographing them, isn't it.

I think you are right about where the greens are coming from. There is a hazy patch in the center of the photo, and that is due to some leaves from a bush that was very near to me.

This bird was very accomodating, and I wish they would all let me take photos at such a leisurely pace.

Now, then, if only I could get warblers to stand still!

I think there is a green cast too. Try taking it down a bit and see what it looks like. You could remove just the green from the owl first to see how it looks. It also looks like your focus catching the tree and not the owl, or the owl was not still. I'm sure it was exciting to photograph. Thanks for posting. . .

In the future, try posting your photos at under 96 dpi, preferably at 72 with a file size of about 100kb. There's plenty of data for optimal on screen viewing, and people with slow connections will be able to view them with ease.

Thanks again for posting. . .
