I can't remember if I posted that they were here. Taken by C-section Friday morning. All healthy and all beautiful. 9 total. 2 blue fawn girls, 1 all white girl, 1 black and white girl, 3 black and white boys, 1 brindle boy and 1 dark fawn boy.

Here are a few pictures:

Good news, congratulations! Were you planning on a C-s or were they just soooo overdue? We'll need a weekly update of shots to watch them grow. Do you plan to keep one (or more than one)?

They were a few days overdue, but, they were just so BIG. They were double the size of most whippet puppies. I think her uterus just stretched so far, that, it couldn't contract.

We tried VERY hard to avoid the section. The vet was at my house all night and when Cinny started bleeding(fresh blood, suggesting placental abruption) we started the pitocin to hopefully help her contract(she was already in labor) She just never could get any contractions going.

We worried that were going to lose puppies and at 5am went in and called a team for the section. Puppies came out great at almost a POUND each! A couple of dane breeders say they have had puppies the same size! Cinnamon lost a LOT of blood and had to be transfused.

She is being a wonderful and attentive mother. Puppies are thriving and soooo darn adorable.

I have taken zillions of photos already. I was planning on keeping one and one only, but, my husband wants a blue and I want the white. soooooooooo.......

It's good to hear that all are doing well. Even with a transfusion, she's likely low on her hematocrit, and a good amount of iron over the next three weeks will probably help her quite a bit. Cook her some liver each day, not only will it help her blood, it will make her a VERY happy mommy!

Take lots of pictures. Puppies grow SO FAST!

Good idea. I didn't think of liver(yech) I have been cooking her 1/2 pound of ground beef, with 3 eggs, total cereal and goats milk. She likes that. She has also been drinking diluted goats milk as she has not been drinking enough water. I can get a large amount of liquids in her if it is goats milk!
