I was just experimenting with the 580EX off camera.
These were taken with an EOS 5D and the EF 70-200 f2.8L Lens and the 580 EX Speedlite.

Welcome Jim. Lovely cat and very interesting images. I really enjoy the second shot.
I would crop some off the left side on the first image. I feel that one is a little over sharpened on the face. Hope to see more shots soon.

These are great Jim. I am going to try my 580EX off the camera after seeing these, these are nice. I like the background with the calico coloring. She sure has pretty green eyes.

Thanks guys! This was just "goofing off" with my wife's mom's kitty down in Houston. Peggy I agree on the sharpening. I had a little too much coming out of the brush. Dee I realy like the effects from the 580 off camera. I have three of them but use two most often either shot through umbrellas or bounced off a card. They are excellent in Slow sync modes.

Hi Jim,

Welcome aboard. I also like the 2nd shot a lot. Let me ask you, what are you using for an umbrella with the 580 EX?

James
