Great shot of Pu uhonua O Honaunau National Park - another example of an amazing National Park. We did not visit there, just Maui, but it looks like it is now on the list.

We were also at Kanapali, there were so many whales it was amazing. Even so, it took a lot of patient waiting and watching for the breach shot- you just didn't know where and when they'd jump. That one with the 70-300 IS. Thank's for commenting. Quite amazing to see these enormous mammals jumping like trout in a lake. And the songs- what an eerie sound- try to describe it, you can not. (only heard underwater).

I would seriously like to spend some time in the new National Marine Preserve created by congress in the northern part of the islands last year- less traffic there. I found the diving off Maui not so spectacular, but good, and I'll bet there is better when you are off the obvious tracts.

Two more with my travel kit, 20D and 17-85 , 70-300 or 10-22
