To encourage visits to the scenic coastal park in Bar Harbor, and other national parks around the country, the Park Service is waiving fees for three weekends this summer: June 20-21, July 18-19 and August 15-16.

More than 260,000 people visited Yellowstone National Park in May, a 20 percent increase from the same month a year ago. During the first five months of 2009, nearly 360,000 people entered the world's first national park. That is an increase of almost 11 percent from last year.
