Rangers at North Cascades National Park in Washington were deeply affected by the tragic and unexpected death of climber, Craig Luebben. This tragic event occured Sunday morning, Aug. 9th, 2009, in their park. Luebben was climbing an alpine rock ridge traverse on Mt. Torment when, according to park rangers, the ice he was standing on fell away. Willie Benegas was his belay partner.
