Actually, Attila, this is pretty darn close to it's actual color. I checked my WB as you suggested, and I did warm the photo up some, but the original image it is a blue bird, not a gray one processed to look blue. We do have gray Blue herons, as you posted, but this one is a true blue. There is a male? (I assume it's a male) by the river with a vivid blue beak, so blue it looks fake with the yellow undersides. I am not sure if that bright blue of the beak is a heron in mating colors? I really don't know much about them.
