New facility would house mountain family artifacts
Park Service, Heritage Center collaborate to save pieces of history
If plans go accordingly, precious mountain family artifacts - plows, books, furniture, pots, pans and documents - now housed in Gatlinburg and Oak Ridge will have a new home in 2012 thanks to a partnership with the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center in Townsend, according to the National Park Service.
