Avalanche risk cuts off town
Smack in the middle of Yoho National Park, the village of Field, B.C., usually enjoys a certain solitude, a small smattering of tourists and a few truckers just passing through on the Trans-Canada Highway. But that solitude has not been by choice since extreme weather hit last week, closing the Trans-Canada both ways and leaving about 40 tourists and truckers stranded.
