West side park plow crews avoiding avalanche dangers
More roads opened in Glacier National Park last week, but crews on the west side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road didn’t plow at the higher elevations because of severe avalanche danger. Plows are about halfway between the Loop and Haystack Creek. On the east side, crews have plowed beyond Dead Horse Point.

Yellowstone Park Goes Green
Heavy snow and sketchy cellphone service did not keep local architects from Yellowstone National Park on Tuesday. Billings based CTA architects showcased the Old Faithful Visitors' Center to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation or APEC during the afternoon. The building was the first visitors' center to receive a gold rating because of its sustainable construction and operational standards. Architects said the center is the best example to show off Montana's energy saving ingenuity.
