For the past nine months, two trucks fueled by propane have been cruising Alaska's roads. One of the trucks was used on the North Slope and weathered temperatures 55 below, to widespread acclaim.

Quimby Offers Easements to Snowmobilers in Return for Park Support
Philanthropist and conservationist Roxanne Quimby has offered northern Maine snowmobile clubs five years of access to critical snowmobile trails on her lands in return for their support of a national park feasibility study. It's a move that the head of the Maine Snowmobile Association characterizes as "coercive." But Quimby says it's part of an ongoing negotiation that could lead to permanent easements for snowmobiles.
