Frequently referred to as "Sky Rats" by coastal residents, gulls are ever present. Whether in the parking lot of a fast food resturant begging for a fry or hovering over a fishing trawler they are a familar sight along coastal areas. Still there is something graceful about their seemingly effortless flight. Tourists visiting from inland locations are thrilled by their presence. After all, few things say ocean better than the sight of a sea gull. Here's a couple shots taken with my Canon 40D and the Tokina 400mm f/5.6 while exporing the beach a couple days ago. Manual mode, ISO 320, f/7.1, 1/1600, hand-held.
