I am lucky enough to live at Donner Summit which was directly in the path of one of the very rare events that occur in our solar system. I trekked up to a spot near Pyramid lake in Nevada to be right on the central path of the eclipse. I used my 500mm Sigma lens with a 2x TC and a black polymer solar filter to capture the entire event. Here is the way I saw it.
