Some Smokies sites reopen
A number of storm-damaged areas remain closed; extensive trail damage reported
Park officials were able to reopen several popular tourist destinations, including Cades Cove, over the weekend, but the park is far from returning to normal following a devastating storm that left two visitors dead.

Weather related closures continue in Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Great Smoky Mountains National Park continues to suffer from damage caused by last weeks storms which trapped campers and are responsible for several deaths. The park is slowly recovering as the popular Cades Cove area reopened late on Saturday, but the River Road continues to be closed according to the latest updates from Park Authorities.
