Junior Rangers Make a Big Impact at Bryce Canyon National Park
Three sisters from Martinsburg, West Virginia caused quite a stir recently when they came into the Bryce Canyon National Park Visitor Center. The girls turned the heads of visitors and staff as they marched up to the information desk wearing vests pinned with literally hundreds of Junior Ranger badges and patches.

Rock slides and an employee injury slowed the opening of the popular Highline Trail at Glacier National Park’s Logan Pass this summer, but crews working to clear the scenic trail of debris anticipate having it ready for hikers by Friday, and possibly earlier.

Two-fold Increase Reported in Grizzly Bear Deaths in Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
A spike in the mortality rate for grizzly bears has been reported in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem earlier in the season than is typical according to my colleague Frank van Manen. Dr. van Manen is the Team Leader of the Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team and President of the International Association for Bear Research & Management.
