Lighthouse Trail Closed for Repairs
The U.S. Coast Guard has started maintenance and repairs to the Bass Harbor Head Light and keeper’s house. The paved access trail to the lighthouse, on the west side of the parking area, will be closed immediately and will reopen by Oct. 6.

Grand Canyon National Park News:
Eight Deaths Reported at Grand Canyon So Far This Year
So far this year there have been eight deaths at Grand Canyon National Park. That number easily could have been nine when a 25-year old French national feel 200-feet from the Grandview Trail on Labor Day but miraculously survived. He fell while trying to find a lense cap he had dropped.
