Hiker Rescued In Grand Canyon
An overdue twenty year-old male who was hiking at the bottom of Supai Canyon was located and rescued late Monday afternoon. He was suffering from extreme dehydration and upon initial contact was confused and disoriented. The Northern Arizona University student was transported to the Flagstaff Medical Center where he was treated for a non-life-threatening condition and later released.

What Goes On At A National Park BioBlitz? Well, Counting Butterflies Is One Task (Note, the article references RMNP, but is a misc issue)
Clouded sulfur? Mormon fritillary? Hoary comma? I had never heard of such intriguing creatures before last month, but the Rocky Mountain BioBlitz put me in close proximity to all three. No fear factor or injuries sustained. Just a stroll in a sub-alpine meadow in an effort to inventory butterflies.

Group's appeal on Rocky's elk management plan Thursday
An environmental group will get another day in court in its challenge to the National Park Service's approach to managing the Rocky Mountain National Park's elk population. The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear oral argument this Thursday, Sept. 20, in WildEarth Guardians' appeal challenging the National Park Service approach at managing the elk population within the park.
