Weir McBride, the editor for Singh Ray's Blog, passed away last week. I was connected to Weir about five years ago through my friend, Steve Kossack, when I started expressing more interest in learning how to use filters for photography. Weir even sent my first filter to me because he had read some of our interviews and liked the website.

In my dealings with Weir, I always found him patient and thoughtful. He spent a lot of time with me on the phone, particularly at the beginning when I started using the filters. I struggled a bit but Weir never seemed to lose patience with me.

Over the last few years, Weir would periodically send me emails or call when we did something on the website that he liked. While I had never met Weir personally, the dealings I had with him had a serious impact on my photography. I know that I am not the only one.

His son write an article that was published on the Singh Ray Blog.

He, and his contributions, will be missed.
