Geo,
I have been photographing Mom and Dad all season with not much luck. However they are pretty used to me at this point.
I came acrossed the nest when my brother in law mowed the feild and almost ran over the nest. We had to then take a bail of hay up and put it near the nest where it had been exposed by mowing. There were 4 eggs and they all hatched so there are 4 there.. hard to see huh? I photograph the every two weeks as to not disrupt their lives to much. Unfortunatly, on my last visit this past week, one of the young was dead in the nest and from what I have been told it was most likely due to siblicide. I could only find two others alive and one is completly missing. Fox and coyotes are quite rampant in our area and with them now straying from the nest they it may have been taken. Mom does not object too much but she likes to keep her eye on me. I do not see dad often but the first time I saw him I thought he was a owl.
thanks again
Trudey
