I can see all 33 gradations distinctly on my monitors but it would probably require up to 256 gradations and some special tools for any of us to really know how well our monitors are resolving subtle shade differences.

There are some pure white areas in the wave on the left to be sure, which I felt helped balance the overall scene, but, as I said, I see a lot of detail too. In the original TIF file it's not an issue, definitely moreso in the 'shrunk-for-the-net' version here.
