Well...it dosn't somtimes interact with my photography....I find appreciation and love of my world exactly what makes my photography what it is. Without it, my pictures seem kinda lifeless.
Capture NX is now perminantly in my workflow. Nothing gets the colors right like Capture...it just makes a huge diffrence. Oh...Color point technology will be released by NIK (who makes Capture NX) as a windows plugin soon...so keep your eye out!
As for being slow...
1. Make sure you have a MINIMUM of 2gb of ram in your pc.
2. Make sure you have your cache pointed to a seperate hard drive. It reall makes a diffrence when the read write happens on a diffrent disk as this frees up the bus for one way traffic instead of clogging it up with up and down traffic.
That alone should make quite a diffrence.
And yes....I am finding the DR layer masking is unnessassary with NX...it can wrangle in those skys pretty darned nicely.
Active D-lighting is pretty awesome too.
