Ginger is a beautiful subject. The second photo captures that beauty and is a wonderful portrait. I like that you are on the cat's level, the lighting is natural and pleasing to my eye. I would like to see the kitty's tail, but that is just a little nitpick. The uncluttered background makes the image all about Ginger. I like it.

The first photo is lacking in some of the technicals. The dark band at the bottom is distracting and should be cropped out or eliminated. The lighting is harsh. If you are using on camera flash, it would help to move the flash off the camera.
