I've seen these birds, several on top of a barn, all holding their wings out like this for minutes at a time. What exactly are they doing? Obviously I'm no bird expert.



If it is early morning they are drying off their wings before they take off hunting. I also have seen them do this in the middle of the day and I don't know why they do it then.
