For the most part, I was tracking the dogs for the first day.

Then on day two, (accept for new dogs that day) I started focusing on specific obstacles with a narrow aperture and getting a series of images of the dog on the obstacle. I've got a great run of 8 images of a dog approaching, clearing the tire and landing on the other side.

I almost always shoot with both eyes open, but tracking motion with the left eye only works from left to right from the camera's perspective since right to left blocks the left eye's view with the camera. I guess I could learn to switch eyes. Being left-eyed actually has some advantages according to Joe McNally.

For the most part, I'm really happy with the day and only want to kick myself over this one image which isn't bad considering the quantity of images from the event.
