These are all loaches of the Botia species from Asia and Indonesia. I do like your clowns better, but in fresh water, these are my favorite. These are rather small, the largest of these shots being the clown at over 3 inches long. The other two are maybe 3”. I shoot with a Tamron 90 macro Di on my D70. Since I have no Nikon flashes I setup exposure manually. Usually a 1/500-1/1000 shutter speed and tweak aperture to around 9. Then two flashes are set on tripods right up close to the tank with Lumiquest bounce cards attaches. The flashes are normal generic tilt head 120ish GN flashes. With the 90mm and the size of these fish I am within a couple feet of the tank of course off at a slight angle like the flashes to avoid flash back off the glass. That’s about it, be patient, and wait for them to come up to the cleaned glass and pose.
