we do our best. But the dog show world is overstocked with fragile egos that almost always get transferred to the dogs. And the need to succeed and gain power is the same as the corporate world. It's a political quagmire and you have to be very careful where you step.

My job(s) require that everyone trust me. I have to not just be competent but above reproach. Because I'm not just a vendor; I'm a member of the community. I have been asked 5 times to run for an ARC Board position and have refused each time because we rely on the Rottweiler community for much of our income. There's no way I could both serve as a Board member and be a photographer and publisher for the Breed. The only time Linda and I express our opinions about issues affecting the Breed is on the Editorial Page of The Rottweiler Magazine. Otherwise, I doubt anybody knows how we feel about docking, multiple sire litters or any of the other issues confronting our breed.

Ultimately, our only obligation is to the dogs themselves. If we treat them well, they return the favor. I wish it were that simple with people .
