1st try Canon 5D Mark 2 (11)

I bought the camera to do videos and some landscape shots for my railroad client and I am very happy with the results. I decided to put my 500 lens on my 5D Mark2 for the 1st time and try for some wildlife shots. IMHO for wildlife and BIF's it is not in the same class as my 1D Mark 3. Does not focus as fast and doesn't hold the focus as well and fast burst is like slow motion. For wildlife I will stick to my Mark 3. I am happy with the results, I think my problem is I am use to my Mark 3 and the Mark 2 is different and I am not use to using it.

I found some Gulls down to the lake which suprised me cuz we only see a few of them and that is during the summer. I have no idea what they are doing here this time of the year. Our lake is at 7500' elevation and at daylight the temperature was 7 degrees F. Since I don't get to see them very often I really enjoyed trying to get a keeper or two. After shooting at the Gulls I found a big buck and a smaller buck trying to herd a doe & fawn. the rut is finally getting started. I will go back tomorrow hunting Bucks in the Rut.

I lost my light when I found the bucks. I was shooting into what was left of the sunlight.

If anybody is interested here are a couple of links to some of the railroad videos I did with my 5D Mark 2. IMHO it does a good job and is easy to use for videos.
